Woolworth Walk
Art, North America, Shopping on TravelMany of us remember shopping at a Woolworth’s store before the chain went out of business in July 1997 in the United States. I have shopped at a Woolworth’s store in Germany after its closure in the United States. Located in Asheville , North Carolina the local Woolworth store has been turned into an art gallery for local artists called the Woolworth Walk. The Old Fashioned Soda Fountain built to resemble the original Woolworth Luncheonette is located within the building. During our visit to downtown Asheville we could not resist stopping by to have lunch and to check out the artwork!
