Monterey Bay
Monterey Bay is a bay of the Pacific Ocean located along the coast of the state of California in the United States. This beautifully scenic area stretches between Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties south of San Francisco. The Monterey Bay area consist of many attractions such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Old Fisherman’s Wharf, whale watching tours, beaches along with other area attractions.
We landed in San Francisco, as we drove down the coast to Monterey we could not help but notice the picturesque landscape of the wine vineyards. Monterey County is one of the largest wine grape-growing regions in the world. The view of the vineyards reminded us of our visit to the Tuscany region in Italy.
A short distance from our hotel was the area of Cannery Row (former cannery buildings) where you will find restaurants, shops and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. As we walked along the waterfront of Cannery Row the sounds and aroma of sea lions, otters and seals filled the air as we gazed at the amazingly beautiful panoramic views of the Monterey Bay.
